Biography

"He is an eminently worthy young musician of rare intelligence, sensitivity and diligence, who has already received much commendation for his performances, imbued as they are with the scholarship of an enquiring and critical mind."
– Leslie Howard

Aidan Módica was born in Dartford, Kent, in 2005. Three years after starting piano lessons at the age of thirteen, he was awarded a scholarship to study both piano and composition at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In the Summer of 2023, he performed with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra on their UK tour, as well as giving a series of solo recitals.

A graduate of Christ’s College, University of Cambridge, where he read Music, Aidan was Chair of the Music Society and sang in the Chapel Choir. Due to the high standard of performance in his first year, he was selected to continue his piano instruction at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of William Fong; he has previously been taught by many eminent musicians including Riyad Nicolas, Matthew Schellhorn and Leslie Howard.

Taking Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand  ‘by the scruff of its neck’ according to one member of the jury, Aidan won the 2026 University of Cambridge Concerto Competition.

An ardent musicologist, he has published the first instalment of a new thematic catalogue of Liszt with Leslie Howard and Minkyu Kim, and, since 2021, has served as one of the editors of The Liszt Society Journal.
